Healthy Lifestyle

So my husband and I decided recently that we want to be more healthy. (And losing some weight wouldn't be bad either). :) So yesterday we finally went grocery shopping and got a bunch of healthy stuff. Basically, we're cutting out preservatives. There are very few things that still have preservatives in them, but hopefully soon, we'll be able to cut them out completely. :)
Anyway, so when we went shopping, I kept thinking to myself "Oh my gosh! This is going to be SO expensive!!" So as we're shopping, and I'm keeping tabs on what I'm spending I thought the total was going to be about $200-$250, and when we checked out it was less than $140!! I was SO happy! And I seriously don't know how I got it so off, but I'm ok with that! :)
So we came home and I compared some of the things we bought the last time we went grocery shopping, and why this time was a lot cheaper than it has been.. Well, it turns out, eating healthy isn't as expensive as I thought. Definitely if you're not buying candy, sweets, chips, etc. Basically, all of the crap food we shouldn't be eating anyway. :)
So now that we have the food part down, I just have to get on with the exercising part. That's going to be a bit trickier. Mostly because my ankle is still healing, so I can't do too much on it. BUT I am not making that an excuse. I can ride my bike, and go walking. As well as work out my upper body, and I can do some leg stuff, just not anything that's going to be too much impact on the ankle. :) And at work I do NOT take the elevator, at all. I take the stairs. To tell you the truth, that's the biggest change of all. Cause I don't usually take the stairs, so I'm sure this will have the biggest impact on me. :)
I'm just really excited to start this phase of my life. It's only been two days, but it feels SO good!! :)

P.S. Any healthy recipes y'all want to share are GREATLY appreciated!! :D
